New Danger to Children at Playgrounds

Parents, don't just let your kids run loose at the playground. Make sure to check ALL of the equipment your children may play on. A 2-year-old child in East Moline, Illinois was injured recently after someone glued razor blades to playground equipment at an area park. Though there have been no reports of this type in the Atlanta and surrounding areas, let caution be your friend. It takes just a few minutes to check the playground area that your children may be playing in to ensure their safety. The few minutes it may take is certainly less expensive than the pending hospital bill.

Moms Take Aim Against Gun Bill

On Tuesday, a group of moms joined one of the most explosive debates at The State Capitol this year....gun rights.  

The Georgia Chapter of Moms took aim at a bill passed last week in the House that would expand gun rights in public places like churches, schools, and government buildings because they feel the bill is dangerous.

Paralyzed Homeowner Wounded in Shootout with Home Invaders

Home Invasions continue plaguing the Metro Atlanta area. Fairburn police say a wheelchair bound homeowner was shot when he pulled a gun in self defense on three armed intruders according to a local Atlanta news report.

Sandy Springs Woman Robbed At Gun Point!

Early Friday, June 7th, 2013 two men robbed a woman at gunpoint at the Park at Dunwoody apartments in Sandy Springs, GA. Now, Sandy Springs police are trying to find the men responsible.

Joy Keishian said she ran into the two men when she walked out to her parked car around 6:30 a.m. that Friday morning. She later stated to police that she saw the two men but thought that they appeared non-threatening.

Fulton County Man Injured in Home Invasion

Three gunmen beat up a man in his home on Gable Court in Peachtree City and drove off in his pick up truck and now Fulton County police are looking for them. 
 
 At just  after 2 a.m. on Thursday morning,  the men kicked in the back door of the home, tied up the man   and kicked him several times, attempting to force him to tell them where his valuables were. They then stole his  2009 burgundy 4-door Ford F-150 pickup truck, using it to get away. The man was not badly hurt.

Armed Robbers Targeting Decatur Women!!

Decatur police are warning people who are downtown Decatur at night to be on the lookout for armed robbers who have been holding up women at gunpoint.

 

Women have been targeted for robbery in the downtown area of Decatur four times between February 7 and March 15 and in all four cases, the robberies took place at about the same general time of night, between 8:45 and 9:15....a half hour window of opportunity for seasoned predators.

Woman Stabbed In Robbery Runs Down Attacker In Her Car!

 A woman cut during a robbery at her apartment building was able to run down her attacker with her car.


 
The woman arrived at her loft on Mangum Street in Castleberry Hill around 6:15 p.m. Monday. A man runs across the parking lot and forces his way in the front door of the building behind the woman, and when she doesn’t immediately hand over her purse, police said he cut hand her with a knife.

Man Rapes Women He Met From Online Dating Sites!!

February 16, 2013


 
 Clayton County police have arrested 23-year-old Aamirr Philpot and charged him with rape, false imprisonment and aggravated sodomy for robbing and raping women he met on social media websites at gunpoint.

Sgt. Scott Hughes of the Clayton County Police Department said "Once he (Philpot) made contact with the females and gained their trust, he would arrange to meet them at a location and when they arrived, he would rape and rob them," .

Two Atlanta mothers may have prevented their young daughters from becoming victims of sexual assault because of their keen amateur detective work.
